What Happened?
On September 4th, 2025 militarized goons from ICE and local law enforcement raided a granola bar factory near Syracuse, NY. They forced workers to show their papers.
- More than 70 workers with the legal right to work in the United States were detained.
- Some of these people were disappeared within 24 hours, before their lawyers could find or speak to them.
- Detainee families were sent scam letters demanding they post bond payments via Zelle.
How can I help?
The Gender Justice Clinic at Cornell Law School is working pro bono to locate and return several individuals.
The clinic needs to raise around $10,000 to pay for lawyers licensed to practice in Texas (where the workers were sent before being deported). Tax deductible donations made with the following instructions will directly fund motions and argument to return these people.
Donation Instructions
To make sure your donation goes to the right place, follow these instructions carefully. (Apologies for the complexity here, this is a developing situation.)
- Donate to the "Impact Fund."
- Under "other designation or special instructions," write "Gender Justice Clinic."
- Expand the "In Honor/Memory of (optional)" section.
- Select "in honor of" and choose "Organization" as the honoree type.
- In the adjacent box, enter "Gender Justice Clinic."
